Akaoa Night Market’s First Birthday, 15 Aug 201215 Aug 2012 For the Akaoa Night Market’s first birthday we celebrated with a mini-session of free photo strips - just the beginning of an awesome night. It was nearly a year-to-the-day since the first market, and some of our very first Akaoa boothers grabed an anniversary pic. The Rotaract team were on hand to keep the kids busy, and quickly sold out of their range of fruit platters and cake treats. The night’s entertainment included a fashion show featuring accessories by TeRa and evening wear from Te Aranui Hut. Next up, champion dancer, Mary Taio mesmerised the crowd. We were then treated to an acoustic set by a visiting performer (anyone have his details?). Finally the Tamariki Manuia fire dancers lit up the stage.
We’d like to thank all of the Akaoa organisers and performers for a great night - meitaki maata.

BTIB Winter Night Market, 20 June 201220 Jun 2012 The Winter Night Market lived up to its name this year, with brief showers and a cool breeze kicking-off the evening. The upside was boothers heating up the booth with inventive posing. Our pix include Tereora students showcasing their market products, families visiting Rarotonga for a tropical break, and locals enjoying the free entertainment.
