12 Dec 2015 A first birthday, 5-years of taking care of the next generation of Kukis, plus an end-of-year wrap-up. All good reasons to hit the beach at Nikao.
We brought along some in-theme - pirates! - props and decorations, our trusty generator and a bag-full of guy ropes and made a day of it (with a stop at Vaiana’s to unwind post packdown).
With Lil Peepz being our daycare of choice, we roped in aunty Tehani, plus the extended LP-family to run interference while we… ran the booth.
For those who missed out, you can order big prints for collection/drop-off. Hit the Facebook album to find your strip, then in the comments let us know the frame(s) you want printed.

25 Nov 2014 After a day of battling the elements in Muri Lagoon (wind, rain, surf, coral heads), it was time to unwind up at Staircase. As dinner was served - delicious by all accounts - it was also time to dish out the awards, with shell medals for team members and carved team trophies.
In-between formalities, the juniors took to the stage to share talents including crumping, crooning, and kapa haka. As background, we sort of ran the booth, that is until the local paddlers found out that strips were ‘for free’.
Big prints available from the booth at event special rate of just $3.

11 Oct 2014 …It was a mad dash for us from the Saturday market, to set up in Tupapa, back to Matavera for a costume change, and town again for the 5pm start. Aroko came along in a Wonkeresque outfit, but we had to throw up the bat signal and request an evac. from aunty early on.
This year we were helping Rotaract fundraise for nebulisers, destined for the Pa Enua.
‘Candy Land’ was the theme, and there were some awesome costumes on show. Rotaract put on an evening of activities, dancing, (+ some candy). We added a few extra props and boothers grabbed some of the hall decorations to add some extra pop to the strips.
Photo reprints and enlargements are available (for a limited time), from the booth at Punanga Nui Market, Saturday morning.

3 Oct 2014 We were stoked to be invited back to the Apii Te Uki Ou Gala to help fundraise this year. The afternoon started with a whale sighting just off the coast as the school is not far from the reef. Activities included a horizontal bungy, haunted house, face painting, a monster garage sale, and rides on the fire engine. The theme was ‘rainbow’ so we picked a suitably bright backdrop and added a few props to the mix.
Meitaki to Jade, Elke and Rosie who helped wrangle Aroko while we set-up.
Reprints and enlargements (blow-ups) can be purchased from us at the Saturday market.

13 Apr 2014 Aroko’s 1st birthday theme was picked out…well nearly a year ago. So with the aid of super-party-aunty Brenda, pirates descended on Matavera. There were scurvy dogs, swash-bucklers, and wenches a-plenty. A highlight was the treasure chest birthday cake, and cousin Daniel’s watermelon shark.
Aroko would like to thank everyone who came to help him celebrate.

26 Nov 2013 What better way to top-off a day of intense paddling competition than with great food, a beautiful sunset, madcap games, and Island Booth! Once word was out, the juniors made the most of the free fotos. All-up,the Oe Mapu Awards was one of our fav. sessions of the year - also the debut of fresh ’drop: ‘Parapotini’ (passionfruit).

11 Oct 2013 There were plenty of cartoon capers at Rotaract’s 2013 Junior Spring Ball. Super heroes, princesses, secret agents, scientists, and Smurfette all came to take pix. Rotaract also put on competitions, group dance sessions, supper and ice-cream to keep the kids cool. An awesome night - we’ll be sure to bring Aroko with us next year.

20 Sep 2013 Thanks to George and Jenna we were invited along to help the kids from Apii Te Uki Ou raise funds for their school. Along with our usual great pix, we also ran a prize draw for a couple of custom-made Picture Paradise photo frames. We pitched the booth near the primary school alongside the volunteer fire truck and not far from the horizontall bungy and shooting range…

20 Sep 2013 …Aroko came along to the gala with aunty Brenda - Dernice from ‘Der Nice Corner’ added some buzzy bees and a daffodil nose to his outfit. On the stage we saw great hip-hoppn’, traditional and contemporary island dance fusion, snappy drumming and free-form antic-bro-batics from the boys.
Big prints from the gala are available from the booth, Saturday morning at the market.

23 Aug 2013 We were overjoyed to be invited back to the Nukutere Gala. With a food festival theme, each student year prepared a speciality, from umu food to hot pot, desserts and BBQ. On the sidelines, stalls offered face painting, the chance to soak your favourite teacher (props to Mr Rasmussen), plus a bouncy castle - which was a big hit with the littlies from St. Joseph’s…
