29 Mar 2014 A lazy market this morning. Aroko directed the booth set-up from his pram - rusk in hand. A few more vendors are now back from Pasifika (perhaps, one day…). Chatted to Fram about his new vanilla extraction plant – using vanilla beans from Atiu. Troy helped with the grocery shopping, we tried Odette’s new coconut pancakes (yom), and rescued Ruru from the leaning-display-stand of tutus.

27 Jul 2013 The island is hummin’ . Counting down to TMN 2013 we had a great mix of our regulars, family, and visitors drop by. After an awesome performance on the main stage, the Te Amokura kapa haka group from Christchurch paid us a visit. We also met new pepes, some big family groups, and hot couples.

15 Dec 2012 Humidity down at the market today almost resulted in ‘Island Booth unplugged’. Meitaki ma‘ata to our boothers for waiting patiently while we battled techno gremlins.
It’s the time of year where people coming-and-going: visiting family; taking a holiday break; or saying a final farewell before leaving the Rock – all great reasons for getting a pic.

14 Jul 2012 Busy times... We saw a few O-Bs (original boothers), who don’t get to the Saturday market often, or are back from NZ for the school holidays. We helped celebrate: family reunions, a 50th birthday, new babies, new fashion accessories, and... nu. Also took a farewell pic for a cousin, entertained wedding guests and caught up with some of our regulars. Meitaki maata :).

4 Apr 2012 Our first BIG event at the auditorium this year. Late afternoon showers had us worried, as did the lake that formed where we hoped to set up... But then the skies cleared and people poured into the venue for the show - standing-room only!

4 Apr 2012 We were lucky in the second half of the evening to have a few more costumes in the booth. It was also a chance for family pix as gifts in time for the Easter holidays. Special meitaki to the dads and uncles who came to the booth with the tamariki :).

19 Nov 2011 Vaka Eiva (outrigger canoeing competition) started this week, so we had a few paddlers and supporters drop by. It was also a good session for family pix - w. photos for Xmas gifts plus more of Justine’s family being added to our photo collection. And, if anyone is looking to adopt a puppy, EHF have eight little ones looking for a home.

28 Sep 2011 Tonight was all about the bling - with our shutter shades and Ariki Gold backdrop. Some sweet (very) new baby pics, tourists sampling local foods and regular boothers dropping by to say ‘hi’.

6 Aug 2011 Punanga Nui was rained out, so we moved to the afternoon drumming competition at the auditorium. Manihiki made a late break in the 'most-T-shirts-in-the-booth' stakes, but Tongareva still came out on top ;)
