  • Island Booth Weddings 2018

31 Dec 2018 Photo strip designs and backdrop favourites from our wedding booth sessions in 2018.

-Top (back)drops: Tiare Gold, Taro Silver and White Island

  • -Pareu Picks: Inapotea (darks and white flowers), Parapotini (flowing pinks-and-purples), Moonriver Blue (light silvery blue)
-Favourite Local Prints; Eke (slate grey), Tongareva (purple), Pounamu (deep green)
New! Maire Nui - a creamy white with fresh green palm frond pattern

In 2018 the booth was in highest demand in the month of March, and Sept-Nov (best to book early if your wedding date is in one of these months). November took out the title of *the* month for a tropical wedding in Rarotonga.

Photostrip design trends: Flowing modern script / calligraphic typefaces and the continued popularity of geometric sans fonts (think Art Deco glamour). There were a few more smokey strip designs: choice of a vibrant-coloured patterned backdrop and a dark or black accent border.

Our preferred resort venue was The Nautilus. The book also rocked the party at The Edgewater and The Rarotongan. Popular private venues were Papa Tika’s Beach (see Wedding Planner Rarotonga) and Moana Nui (Muri Beach).

We entertained parties ranging in size from 12-120+, and our props/costume box and personalised guest books were a hit. Newly added for 2018 was our Strips-for-all upgrade. Book this option and we print a photostrip for each guest + one for you to keep. More strips = more owsome.

    Meitaki to all our boothers.

  • Apii Te Uki Ou Gala 2018 – Part 1

5 Oct 2018 Back to the old skool for some fundraising.
The gala was well-underway by 12.30 this year … what happened to ‘island-time’?
As has become our tradition, plans to a) buy some food, and b) check out the other stalls — never happened.
Adriana’s face painting was popular again, as was the haunted house. Tangiiau worked up a sweat climbing-and-then-falling-down the bouncy castle, pitched in the midday sun. By our estimation the real action was to be found at the art auction. (If you missed out on your favourite canvas, postcard versions are planned - see the TUO office)…

  • Apii Te Uki Ou Gala 2018 – Part 2

5 Oct 2018 …We rounded out our session with some super-hero shots, sweet family portraits and staff mugging.
Meitaki to aunty Haley for fixin’ us some pulled pork and chicken rolls for the pack-down.

  • Lilah’s 1st Birthday

    11 Nov 2017 A first birthday to remember, beach-side at Vaiana’s.
Initially planned as a modest affair; it was a great occasion, local and international guests, costume-friendly theme – Safari! – with the booth as the icing on the cake. Overcast conditions in the morning went easy those setting-up (although the balloons didn’t fare so well). A pure to open festivities was followed by cake and kai kai, then mingling of family and friends. A well-rested birthday girl took all the attention in her stride. Younger guests left clutching a candy-floss gift bag and a fist-full of fotos.
Meitaki for having us (and our monkeys), as part of your celebration.

  • Apii Te Uki Ou Gala 2017 – Part 1

6 Oct 2017 Our third TUO gala fundraiser event almost didn’t happen due to a last minute booking enquiry, but this year the tamariki won out :). With the boys dispatched to Mila, Sarah and aunty, we were free to ‘stack heads’ and catch up with boothers-past…
