Island Booth at the Market, 4 Jan 20144 Jan 2014 A damp start, but once the clouds cleared, it was hot and humid morning at Punanga Nui today. Family-reunion goers returned with more kin in tow, we debuted (another) new backdrop, and most of the food vendors were done and gone before lunch. We bought smoked marlin, some fundraising passionfruit, plus all our regular fruit and vege. Our session closed with the annual-ish Meyer family portraits.

Island Booth at the Market, 28 Dec 201328 Dec 2013 Our final session at Punanga Nui for 2013. This week was all about the Fortes Family Reunion, with newly discovered cousins, aunties and uncles bundled into the booth for a commemorative foto. We also had some quick-change experts, with costume swaps, solos vs. group frames, and fierce poses.
Meitaki to everyone who came to see us in 2013, we’ll be back for more in twenty-fourteen :).

Island Booth at the Market, 21 Dec 201321 Dec 2013 Although it is Christmas next week, visitors to the island seemed confused by our array of hats, noses, antlers and festive paraphernalia. Locals were less shy, and came by for their annual family / Xmas card photo. Junior boothers roped-in visiting family members; meitaki to all the older brothers, uncles, and dads who embraced the festive spirit. We also saw some familiar faces from the Hula Mania dance competition last night.

Hula Mania 6, 21 Dec 201321 Dec 2013 The finals night saw more support for the dancers, with a few contestants visiting the booth direct from the stage. We took pix for families staying across at the school for a family reunion, and great solos, destined for homes in the Pa Enua.
