12 May 2012 (The day before) Mother’s Day at the market, and regulars made personalised cards for their mums. Meitaki to everyone hosting visitors to the island who came to the booth for a holiday snapshot. And although IB pix don’t meet passport requirements - for example we fall down when it comes to ‘having a plain background’, or ‘not smiling’ - for any other type of instant photo we’re happy to help you out. And so, today, we took one of the nicest visa application photos you’re ever likely to see :).

28 Apr 2012 The island seemed a bit ‘tender’ this morning - a carry-over from an epic wedding-booth session on Friday night. Early rain had the booth up double-quick - just in time for the weather to clear :). It was a day of dynamic posing - with some sweet solos and duos. We took some great fun family portraits, worked on our baby wrangling skills and helped commemorate holidays, weddings, and renewed friendships.

21 Apr 2012 A sleepy crowd at the market today. A few visitors collecting last-minute souvenirs and waiting for connecting flights dropped by. We said farewell to Rosie-May (‘*not* Rosemary’), and her sister who are preparing to relocate to Auckland. We also welcomed back to the booth a number of the young dancers who feature in one of our jumbo-sized photo strips. Featured pose of the day - the ever popular - [ I ] [ ♥ ] [ U ].

14 Apr 2012 A great crowd at the market today. With the school holidays still in effect, we had Kukis visiting Rarotonga from Aitutaki, Australia and NZ - catching up with family. Aroha finished weaving our new custom deep-red pandanus fans. Other prop cameos included ukeles, nu (drinking coconuts), Fanta, island hats, shirts, and shades. We also dropped in to Fresh Local Art for a copy of the book on Cook Islands tattoo: Patterns of the Past - a successful day all round.

7 Apr 2012 Second week in our new location near Kia Orana Gifts. This week we had a wedding party from The Edgewater taking in the market vibes before the ceremony; the gang from Esther Honey (animal shelter / veterinary care) checking out our new spot; and a few more curious fellow stall holders putting the booth through its paces. We also received our new sandwich board from Rimatoa - meitaki to August and Deon for the awesome job!

31 Mar 2012 Meitaki maata to the boothers who found us in our new location, and the other stall-holders who made us feel so welcome. We have some great neighbours including the Pearl Lounge, Kia Orana Crafts, Island Crepes, Justine's aunty (Are Mama) and Tornado Potato.
On the menu for us this week were new Facebook profile pix, friends over for a long weekend, friends of the family and some sweet quick-change strips.

24 Mar 2012 It was hot down at the market today. We met wedding guests, family groups, holidayers and caught up with some regulars. Our Mike TV glasses and skeleton hands made a brief appearance, but pic of the day goes to the ‘melon-heads’. Special mention to our ‘professional boothers’ - you know who you are :).

17 Mar 2012 While we couldn't top Anna’s St Patrick's Day island dresses, we _did bring our freshest green ei and ei katu to the booth this week. Regular boothers worked out new poses, and we were ready with suggestions for new boothers to trial. We also spotted a rare green tiger!

10 Mar 2012 The markets were humming today. It was great to see some of our favourite boothers from last year, along with new (smiling) faces. You’ll notice owsum face painting in a few pix: butterflies and tigers and cats (‘oh my!’) - courtesy of Made 'N' Raro (just to the right of the main stage). We also added a zesty new ei katu to our island props collection.

25 Feb 2012 A humid start to the day, but by mid-morning the market was humming. We had the chance to (at random) catch up with Kirsty and Gary who were on the rock celebrating their one year anniversary - and whose wedding we filmed back in Wellington a year ago! Plus the Made ‘N’ Raro clan came by for an overdue family Xmas pic. Meitaki to everyone who stopped by.
