11 May 2013 A beautiful autumn morning for the market. Nice and cool first thing - which helps with putting the booth together. We’ve noticed a trend of market-goers stopping to talk to/tickle Aroko, rather than actually taking pix… Nicolas and Troydyn lent us a hand creating an island booth voucher for Der Nice Corner (face-painting). Families on vacation, groups celebrating birthdays, and hot couples hit the booth today, meitaki ma'ata.

4 May 2013 Adjusting our clocks for AST (Aroko Standard Time), we were almost running to schedule this market. We’re still learning to juggle our pepe and boothing duties, so metaki to everyone who on seeing a queue, returned to see us later in the day. We took Mother’s Day pix (still time to grab a shot next week), caught up with regular boothers, plus commemorated visiting family and friends. The day concluded with a cunning guerrilla marketing ploy by Pastor Ngarima George - who emerged, just as world-weary vendors were packing up, with a arm full of fresh hot coconut donuts and an irresistible sales pitch. We’re onto you Mr George :).

27 Apr 2013 Our first market since the addition of Aroko to the IB family :). A pleasantly overcast morning gave us the extra time we needed to get the booth up-and-running. A big meitaki ma’ata to our fellow vendors for their well-wishes and on call baby-minding. Awesome families rock’d the booth this morning. We caught up with some of our regulars. Elsewhere the Iro’s have Cookie league gears back in stock - but selling fast.

23 Mar 2013 It’s still hot and dusty at the market, but fortunately the booth is, ahem, ‘air conditioned for your comfort’. Our new island-size photo frames were popular this week. Plenty of BFFs kept us company, and we had a steady stream of heros, villians and butterflies visiting courtesy of Der Nice Corner (face-painting). Oranges are now back in season and a few more vendors were back, including the bread and pastry masters from Deli Foods.

16 Mar 2013 It was our hottest market yet today, so we had our booth air conditioning on full - our prop fans were also popular with boothers. There were still a few empty spaces with a number of vendors in Auckland for Pacifica, but it was a welcome return of our across-the-way neighbours, Island Crepes. We now have new 6″× 8″ Cook Islands photo frames in stock, these are a great way to display your fav. booth pix, and come in black, white and wood finishes.

9 Mar 2013 Today was all about weddings. We saw guests from Kim and Kelvin’s wedding - looking quite sprightly after rockin’ the booth last night at Tamarind House. We also had a couple taking a pic before their wedding this afternoon, and guests arriving for a vow-renewal next week. We also made the most of a quieter day to order our 2012 commemorative cocobank from Made in Raro Designs.

2 Mar 2013 Kia orana! IB back at the market after our Summer break. Just in time for some commemorative pix. We farewelled Jess (aka 'snack-size'), who has been working tirelessly on a range of conservation projects here in the Cooks, including the Shark Sanctuary announced late last year. It was also Geena’s birthday - and second year that we've been on-hand with the booth to mark the occasion. Elsewhere in the market, starfruit (raparapa) are back in season, and our vege man Colin debuted a range of fresh salads.

19 Jan 2013 The wind let-up this week at the market - so we had more time to catch up with boothers, rather than chase after ei and our table signs. Thanks to the support of our regulars, word of the booth is spreading, so we took pix for visiting families, family friends, and our business coach. With the family reunion season coming to a close, a few more of the Heather clan crashed the booth too. Meitaki ma'ata.

12 Jan 2013 Family groups fresh from reunions were down at the market today, collecting souvenirs, island crafts and gifts to take back to NZ and AU. We also welcomed back the Invisible family - booth-regulars since day one ;). Clear skies brought the heat on early, and our neighbouring steak roll and kebab stall holders did a roaring trade. Lemons and oranges are coming back into season, picked up some fresh pesto, but missed out on humus…
Just two more weeks at the market before we take a Summer break – so come see us soon.

5 Jan 2013 A great start to ’13, as we arrived early to set up before the sun hit. We had some familiar faces in the booth, with family taking a pic. for the home kopu tangata wall/fridge collection; wedding couples; and our regular boothers bringing visiting cousins and friends for their first IB shots. New to the booth were some large family groups, making the most of everyone being down at the market at the same time. We even had our photo taken with the booth (if you have shots of the booth in action, we’d love it if you added them to the IB Facebook Page).
See you next week. :).
